While his family were enjoying popcorn in the stalls, David was playing a major part in AC Milan's 5-2 win against Genoa at the San Siro stadium last night.

The 34-year-old is on his second spell at the club on loan from LA Galaxy and boosted his World Cup chances this summer with an impressive display under the eyes of England boss Fabio Capello.

Becks, unaware that Capello was in the stands, said: 'I only found out afterwards. But he loves football and he'll go to every game possible.

Victoria faces having to look after the boys single-handed in LA while Becks spends three months with AC Milan trying to maintain his fitness levels in the U.S. off-season.

Victoria spoke previously about how difficult she finds it being apart from her husband, but said they have learned to cope with their unique living arrangements.

Nicknamed the Queen of Air Miles for all the travelling she puts in to visit England and Italy when her husband is playing, she said: 'We appreciate the time we spend together and we spend hours on the phone when we're apart.'
